My big cousin sent me an interesting story yesterday which had me thinking, but only for a short time. California reparations committee is suggesting that the state fork over $223,200 to each black resident who is a descendant of the formerly enslaved. That's going to be a lot of money. The reparations task force formed by California Gov. Gavin Newsom is focusing on "housing discrimination" and estimates that black residents of the state are owed for past practices to the tune of $569 billion to compensate them for setbacks between 1933 and 1977. The interesting part of this story is the actual Governor created this committee so there just may be validation to this whole ideology. The committee has until June 2023 to submit its final recommendation for helping black businesses and mainly simply being able to not worry about putting food on the table in the state of California. Racism is everywhere but it is prevalent in certain areas of California, trust me, I know. With gas prices sky-high and rent extremely expensive, this money would help tremendously. It was created by Newsom's legislation which he signed in 2020 and would be the largest reparation in US history.
