Southwest has canceled more than 2,900 flights last Monday, which was at least 70% of its schedule for the day. More than 2,500 flights Tuesday as of 9:10 a.m. ET — at least 60% of its schedule. All of this left people stranded at airports all across the country, many not knowing where their bags were or when they would get to their destination. The number of canceled flights for Southwest was literally 10 times higher than Delta, which had the second-most cancellations with 265 flights cancelled. Temperatures dropped across the nation and shortage of crews became an issue during the holiday season. Hopefully by now things have gotten back in order by now, but it is strongly advised if traveling during any holidays or winter season carry only carry on luggage and make plenty of time for things to go wrong. Don't stress yourself out by trying to come back the day before work, allow room for error and enjoy a day before returning to work in case something happens during the busy traveling season. Might even be better to just make a live Zoom call to loved ones to avoid getting stuck. Jeez.
