SPOILERS AHEAD. BE WARNED.

With the internet buzzing crazy about the final season of Snowfall, what's all the talk about? Well, the show revolves around cycles of life and following the footsteps of our parents. The show's main character Franklin Saint was based off of Freeway Ricky Ross's real-life character and the drug cocaine importation with the help of the CIA and a corrupt cop/federal agent nicknamed "Teddy." This show contains a lot of violence and depicts the pitfalls of the involvement of approximately $70 million dollars worth of cocaine. Jeez. When I first peeped it on HULU I thought to myself wow "damn, well that finale was disappointing. After watching an explanation on Youtube and understanding something else besides a violent ending or jail for Franklin Saint, I decided to watch the first episode again. That very episode showed Franklin Saint's father walking the street as a homeless man addicted to alcohol. It also had a very pivotal part in Franklin working at a store because he wanted his "Freedom and wanted to be free." The last words in the season finale was Franklin felt "free." He said the police and government took everything else and walked down the street just like his father from episode 1 who was lost in the streets. Death or jail would have been the easy way out for the show's main character.

DOESN'T FALL FAR FROM THE TREE

Usually, many households have children who follow their parent's careers. I personally know lawyers' fathers who influenced their kids to become a lawyer and doctors, etc, but what about your individuality? What about you that makes you YOU? It takes time to figure out, but is a rewarding journey once the answer is known. The safe route is to do what has a parachute or take a chance at becoming what YOU want to be. Franklin became a leader but overdid it. His love for money lost his wife, baby, house, mother, and family and left him with absolutely nothing. It's not easy to understand and yes a violent surprising gunshot to his chest or jail cell would have claimed this guy's life and ended everything just as we would think, but the brilliant writing on this show challenged what we expect. Do we challenge what we expect in life? Do you take chances? Hopefully, you don't go as far as Franklin but think hard about what I'm saying to you, yes YOU. People may look at you and not understand your road but you must understand your destiny and realize the road is unfortunately lonely as well but rewarding in the end because you did it your way. As far as the preparation went for the show, Damson Idris explained he did not take a shower for several days and the makeup job did a great job with his rotten teeth explaining he had still become like his father when he lost everything.

Damson Idris spoke on the unexpected ending of the series.“His final moments were incredibly challenging. There was a fatherhood connection there, which I connected to personally so it was deeply emotional for me. Franklin’s connection to his father and his becoming an alcoholic was incredibly difficult,” Idris said. He also said, “Behind the scenes, I had a little flask with me that no one knew about. I would touch it with my lips just to have the taste. I’ll also admit that I didn’t shower. Luckily I wasn’t disrupting anyone with any odors.” Hey, I guess he understands the assignment. Salute to Mr. Idris and it's still r.I.p Uncle Jerome. Lol.
