DONATING TO A BLACK FOUNDATION

So we all heard the story of Adidas not knowing what to do with the leftover Yeezys since the split between the company and Kanye West. Adidas has now announced a portion of the revenue will go to the family foundation of police brutality victim George Floyd. The CEO Bjørn Gulden said, "After careful consideration, we have decided to begin releasing some of the remaining Adidas Yeezy products.” Let's be real, Adidas has been a long-staying brand due to a large part being supported by the black community. We can go back to the RUN DMC days and their sponsorship of the brand, the sweatsuits worn by the duo and the specific song "MY ADIDAS" contributing to the at-time growing companys success. Adidas will also be donating to the Anti-Defamation League.

This decision comes after Kanye West previously made headlines for his anti-Semitic comments towards Jewish people. The CEO Bjørn Gulden also said“Not only condemning anti-Jewish hate but lending their support for education and other initiatives, is exemplary and a model for other public companies to emulate. We thank them for their ongoing dialogue around their remaining inventory and their vested interest in tackling issues of prejudice and hate.”
