WHAT'S GOOD WITH WEEZY?
A MILLI A MILLI...
Well, Lil Wayne has been popping up in headlines lately and it's not for the best reasons at all. He has cemented himself through his decade-plus career to be labeled one of the "GOATS" in his longstanding career and is responsible for making Drake and Nicki Minaj household names. The transformation and evolution of Lil Wayne has been a rather artistic and interesting one to see as he has gotten tattoos all over his body, face, and has made skateboarding his passion throughout his career as well. Let's talk about why Lil Wayne has been in the headlines lately though.
Lil Wayne had his performance at the Metro Metro festival in Montreal cut short after showing up 45 minutes for his set. Lil Wayne's set was scheduled to begin at 10:00 PM but Lil Wayne didn't get on stage until about 45 mins later. He performed a few songs before the 11:00 PM city curfew, but then all of a sudden the city shut down the lights and even turned off his mic while performing. The festival's social media team tweeted, “We apologize for Lil Wayne‘s abbreviated performance. He arrived at the festival at 10:45 and curfew is at 11.” Yikes. It happens.
ANOTHER LATE ARRIVAL?
Lil Wayne previously took the stage over an hour late. Once he got up there, he performed for half an hour and brought out surprise guest 2 Chainz before bringing out his latest Young Money artists Allan Cubas, Yaj Kader, and Lil Twist. The crowd was not happy with Wayne's leaving the stage. Before Cubas could perform his second song, Wayne came back onstage and told Cubas to stop singing. "We appreciate it, but we ain't about to be bending over backwards for these folks. We work too hard for this s—. We work way too hard." "This my motherf---er' artist Allan, that was Twist, that was Yaj. We are Young Money. We appreciate y'all time." Fans were disappointed with Lil Wayne on social media after the show. Lil Wayne was not happy with the low-energy crowd. One of the concertgoers said "I will never go to another Lil Wayne concert again after he arrived 3.5 hours late then performed for 30 had intermission put his new artist to perform then came out and canceled the rest of the concert because the crowd wasn't hype enough for his new artist." Lil Wayne, you can't shove an artist down people's throat and expect them to love him just because you believe in him, there has to be a hit with them first and people have to be familiar with the artist first, they came to see you, killa.
