More bad news for rapper Fetty Wap as he was sentenced Wednesday to six years in prison for a drug trafficking conspiracy charge. He used certain parts of Long Island and New Jersey to allegedly traffic fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, and crack.
Fetty is 31 years old and hopefully, he's out before the age of 35. The drugs were bought from the West Coast and brought to the East Coast either through the mail or by drivers with hidden vehicle compartments to transport the drugs to Suffolk County, New York, where they were stored, prosecutors said. Fetty Wap pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine In 2022. Fetty Wap's lawyers fought hard for him in the case but things just didn't turn out in his favor. In Fetty Wap's defense, his attorney said “with the coming of the worldwide pandemic, things began to change for Mr. Maxwell. There were no opportunities to perform, thus his income was severely limited.
He was sued personally, was going through a divorce, and was involved with a tour manager who was stealing from him. While the bills kept coming in, the money to pay them was running out,” his lawyer, Elizabeth Macedonio, wrote. Officials of the law busted the entire drug ring, seizing $1.5 million in cash, two 9-mm handguns, a rifle, a .45 caliber pistol, cocaine, heroin, and even more guns.
Fetty Wap and five co-defendants were accused of conspiring to move the heavy drugs. Music industry icon Kevin Liles showed up to support Fetty Wap but by now things are just too late.

Can you believe it is alleged that Trap Queen” was used as a tribute song to an ex-girlfriend who helped distribute it in Patterson, NJ? Jeez.
“Trap Queen,” reached No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in May 2015. He was even nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2016. Music should never be used in court but this time it was along with hard evidence of the actual distribution product for the underworld market.
Trap Queen was literally Fetty Wap's first hit which caught everybody's attention. He later had remixes with Drake, a few more bangers and then he suddenly wasn't as popular after 5 or 6 songs.
He made slight comebacks which seemed promising but Fetty Wap never caught the wave of his first-time run with songs like "679" and more. Fetty Wap had a little bit of beef with one of his squad members which helped propel him to the top of the charts with the help of the 300 record label. Prosecutors pushed for a harder sentence due to the content of his music and the glamorization of using women to traffic drugs and money but even in this sentence, he lucked out that it wasn't more. Fetty Wap expressed remorse for his actions, apologizing to his community, fans, and family, for letting everyone down and the pain he caused. Now four out of the five defendants are awaiting sentencing, after pleading guilty.
