Atlanta-bred rapper superstar T.I. is open about his disdain for President Donald Trump and his fractured realtionship with Kanye West over Yeezy’s bizarre alignment with 45.
Via XXL: “T.I. is no fan of President Trump—he's made that fact loud and clear in the past. But his latest attempt to degrade the Commander in Chief has sparked outrage after he tossed the First Lady, Melania Trump, into the mix.
On Oct. 12, Tip shared a promotion video for his new Dime Trap album and it sent the Twittersphere into a frenzy.
In the clip, we see the president leaving the White House grounds in his helicopter. T.I. is then shown getting comfortable in the Oval Office. Shortly afterward, a Melania Trump look-alike strolls out and gets a striptease popping while T.I. attentively surveys the performance, which ends up with the Melania Trump look alike butt ass naked.
The video drew immediate backlash from some women, including The First Lady's spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham, who called for a boycott of the rapper.
The release of the controversial video follows T.I’s passionate objection to Kanye going to the White House to meet with Trump.
T.I. may have been a bit out of line, but he’s not going to suffer any ramifications in the hip-hop community. T.I.P. does so many meaningful and impactful things in the Atlanta community that he gets a pass. He’s building housing and making other contributions to improve the existence of inner city youth.
The people outraged about Tip’s video are the same ones who could care less about underserved kids of color. He doesn’t owe them anything. Again, you have oppressors upset that the oppressed is no longer afraid to call them to the carpet and even ridicule and mock them.
That’s just Tip using the power of free speech in the same way that our President does.
