If you are from Queens or Brooklyn and you meet someone and say "I live in the city or I just moved to the city," It is a lear indication you are doing well for yourself. It creates a "prestige" about you and shows you are "getting to the bag" especially in today's climate of rent. Manhattan rent has gone up even higher from the usual $3,500 rent for a one bedroom apartment, now the increase has gone up $4,298, an annual increase of nearly 23%. Seriously. Studio apartments are said to be listed as high as $2,000. This is a reality. It also appears to be going up as the Covid-19 variants keep coming. Mayor Adams is also working hard on trying to help renters as eviction protection expires soon due to the virus.
