I think this case speaks volumes and sends a message to America. First of all, we probably shouldn't b traveling with Weed, vape pens, or anything like this because of other countries' laws. Second, why so long of a sentence? She did not kill anybody. SMH. She is no HERO in this case either, she did something foolish and now has to pay horrible repercussions. WNBA star Brittney Griner was sentenced to nine years in prison Thursday (August 4) at the conclusion of her trial in Russia after bringing cannabis into the country in February is a bit much. President Joe Biden reacted to the news of Griner's conviction, stating, "Today, American citizen Brittney Griner received a prison sentence that is one more reminder of what the world already knew: Russia is wrongfully detaining Brittney. It's unacceptable, and I call on Russia to release her immediately so she can be with her wife, loved ones, friends, and teammates." Russia controls Russia, as we see in the Ukraine war. There is nothing the U.S. can do besides beg them to let her go somehow. This is horrible at every angle you choose to look at it.
