All season Yankees slugger Aaron Judge has been locked in. The towering power hitter turned down a lucrative long term extension from the team in the offseason to bet on himself. Often times that backfires, but not in Judge’s case as the sweet swinging slugger his an American League record 62 homers, breaking former Yankees star Roger Maris’s 61-year-old record of 61 homers in a season. Following Judge’s historic moment the biggest question of the night seemed to be what would the fan who caught the historic ball do with it. 

Corey Youmans the longtime baseball fan, hasn’t yet decided what he’s going to do with the historic baseball. Youmans was already offered as much as $2 million for the ball. While Youmans has a huge decision to make, there have been many varying opinions on what he should do. One person who’s spoken out on the situation is Dallas Cowboys owner and billionaire Jerry Jones, and let’s just say his opinion comes from a place of being very wealthy and being broke. 

During Jones’ weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan, he had this to say. 

“I think I’d like him Aaron Judge to have it, the player, at the end of the day. Now, if I didn’t have any money … so it’s all relative. Let’s be real a little bit here. Your personality, your charitability, that will change on you when you’re broke.”

The opinionated Jones is speaking from both sides of the spectrum and his reasoning seems pretty relative. 

Jones Talks Love For Baseball And What Team He Rooted For A Young Lad: 

Despite being the owner of the Cowboys and making them the most lucrative franchise in sports, worth an estimated $8 billion, Jones has always loved “America’s Pastime.” 

Jones the former co-captain of the 1964 Arkansas Razorbacks football team talked about his admiration for the game of baseball during the interview as well. 

“We’ll, first of all baseball was my love and playing it was, I still love it, and I got to travel, played American Legion, played all the way up through and so I love baseball and just followed meticulously all the players that played it. I was in college when Maris and Mantle were playing together and Maris broke the record, I’m a great baseball fan.”

Judge Has Bigger Fish To Fry Right Now: Jones Will Need Dak Back Soon

Lost in the hoopla of Judge’s record-breaking dinger, and the uncertainty about what will be done with the baseball, is the fact that the Yankees are hoping to end their 13-year World Series title. They’re not the favorites in the American League, but many still expect them to face the Houston Astros in the ALCS. It’ll be a rematch of the 2017 and 2019 championship series both won by the Astros, but all marred by their cheating scandal. 

As for Jones he’s hoping to get his $40 million quarterback, Dak Prescott back sooner than later. Prescott hasn’t played since breaking his thumb in the Cowboys season opening loss to the Buccaneers. His backup Cooper Rush has gone 3-0 in relief, but if the Boys have any deep playoff run aspirations, they’ll need Dak.
