Former Rams Player Odell Beckham Jr. On Contract Offer, Head Coach Sean McVay Says A Better Offer Is Looming

In February the Los Angeles Rams won the franchise’s second Lomdardi Trophy with a 23-20 Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals. A key component of that magical run was wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who was acquired about a little past the halfway mark of the season, following his surprising release from the Browns. Beckham’s arrival in Tinseltown added a much needed deep threat to the offense and took pressure off of fellow star receiver Cooper Kupp. It looked inevitable that Beckham would re-sign with the Rams following the season, but a torn ACL suffered in the Super Bowl, has slowed that process.

Recently Beckham mentioned that money or the lack there of  has also played a role in him not being signed back to the team. The former LSU Tigers star recently took to Twitter to tell his side of the story as it pertains to his contract situation with the Rams.

“LA knows where I wanted to be… but they didn’t offer me… ANYthing! So idk what people want me to do, I def kno my worth and what the offer was isn’t reflective of that. So it’s tough to say that I can come on back even tho I finally found that home!“

Seems like Beckham wants to be in Los Angeles, but at the same he wants to feel appreciated and based on his tweet the offer wasn’t good enough.

Beckham even tweeted in regards to the offer.

“the lowest of low offers.”

Rams Coach Sean McVay Says Rams Aren’t Done Making Offers To OBJ:

During his short time with the Rams, Beckham and McVay became really close. And unlike the Browns, McVay dialed up plenty of plays just for the dynamic wideout. But if you let McVay tell it, the Rams aren’t done trying to bring OBJ back, and boy do they need him.

After getting wind of Beckham’s tweets, McVay chimed in with his thoughts during the team’s media session on Wednesday.

“I love Odell. We have constant dialogue.”

“Odell also knows that certainly I don’t think that’s the last offer that would come from us. I’m not familiar with what it is. He knows how we feel about him. We’ve got a little bit of time. But I love, Odell nothing but good things coming from me.”

Beckham Was On His Way To Winning SB MVP Before Injury:

Prior to injuring his ACL in the SB, Beckham was the best player on the field, and the Bengals had no answer for him. In the 2021-22 playoffs, OBJ tallied 21 receptions for 288 yards and two touchdowns. His skillset fits perfectly with the aforementioned Kupp, and without him this season defenses are playing the Rams completely different.

Beckham says he let his heart lead him and when the time is right he’ll join a team. It’s a good chance he rejoins the Rams, he loves the vibes and LA.
